Privacy policy
Your notifications
With notification access, Hush reads the notifications your apps post: the app, the title, the text, the time and the category the app gave it. Hush uses them to decide what to show, hide or hold, to learn which apps you open, and to write the quiet-hours summary. All of this happens on your phone. Notification content is stored only in the app's private storage and is never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
Hush keeps your history for 14 days on the free plan and 90 days with Pro. You can delete it at any time in Settings, Data, Delete history. Uninstalling Hush deletes everything it stored.
On-device AI
When the on-device model is available, it reads unclear notifications and writes the summary on your phone. On some phones the model is part of the system; on others it is a one-time download from Google Play. The notification text it reads stays on your phone.
Do Not Disturb
If you allow it, Hush turns Do Not Disturb on at the start of your quiet hours and off at the end. It changes nothing else in your phone's settings.
Advertising
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob inside the app's screens, never in notifications. Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address and how you interact with ads, and may use them for personalised ads where you have agreed to it. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland you are asked for consent first, and you can change your choice in Settings, Privacy, Ad choices. Notification content is never shared with advertisers. Pro removes ads. Google's practices: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Purchases
Pro is bought through Google Play. To confirm a purchase on your devices, Hush uses RevenueCat, which receives a random app user ID and the purchase receipt from Google Play. It does not receive your name, email address or notification content. Payment details are handled by Google Play only.
Crash reports
Release builds send crash reports to Sentry: the error, the code location, the app version, the Android version and the phone model. Crash reports do not include notification content, and screenshots and view captures are turned off.
Backups
Android's backup copies only your settings (quiet hours, filter choices, theme). Your notification history is excluded from cloud backup and from device-to-device transfer.
What we collect
We do not run servers for Hush and receive nothing from the app beyond the crash reports and purchase confirmations described above. We do not sell data.
Children
Hush is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new effective date.
